My best friend Mocha, was rescued from a shelter in 2000, by my Mother when she was about 5-mo old.

In 2003, while I was living in Phoenix, Mocha and my daughter came to visit me. I took Mocha on a jog with me, and we are not sure what changed, but she adopted me at that moment and time, noticeably so, on that day.

From then on, she decided she always wanted to be with me and when I moved back to Colorado in 2003, Mocha still lived with my Mom, but I would pick her up to go on trail runs, mtn bike rides, camping and hiking. In 2006, Mocha could finally come live with me.

We had some great times..I never had a dog that adopted me, and didn't want to be away from my side. It was tough bc she had separation anxiety. Eight and half years we lived together, until her old age body, not her spirit, her spirit wanted to go on and on and on, but her body was failing.

Mocha passed onto the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, and I have been lost the last 24hours. I have been holed up feeling so unmotivated. Now, I am ready to continue on, and put together a memorial blog....but I don't want it to only be online. I want to put together an adventure book that shares our outings and happenings. So, I started looking online to see how other people were doing this.

I don't know how I will rescue another dog...esp., since I was the one rescued (adopted) by Mocha. <3Doux Ancoliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12892517839605837839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-397993561203042221.post-49254525558819937392013-12-25T01:52:14.813-08:002013-12-25T01:52:14.813-08:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11408033023058684636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-397993561203042221.post-2262207317265799782013-10-15T01:23:21.779-07:002013-10-15T01:23:21.779-07:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.James Kartanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12851088295698002834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-397993561203042221.post-15790691106386478912013-03-03T09:03:25.525-08:002013-03-03T09:03:25.525-08:00awh so sweet . i too had to put my girl to sleep ....awh so sweet . i too had to put my girl to sleep .just waiting for her ashes to come back and figure out what we are goingto do with with them. very touching story it makes me want to make a memeorial blog as well. god bless and take care of you guysAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-397993561203042221.post-50662960598580174622013-02-13T14:50:27.778-08:002013-02-13T14:50:27.778-08:00Oh goodness I am sobbing right now. I waited only a few weeks before adopting another shelter dog but will always remember Dallas, the dog who chased his tail and made us laugh and was so very brave until the end.Pen and Inkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03386730143570779597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-397993561203042221.post-31346823198346944522013-02-07T17:38:12.536-08:002013-02-07T17:38:12.536-08:00This is so very helpful to me as I get ready to bl...This is so very helpful to me as I get ready to bless my sweet Belle Marie on her way soon. I have had her ofr over 15 years! She is a lovely black cocker mix with the biggest brown eyes that melt your heart. I am going to be making a stepping stone with her paw prints and a few other things. I will plan on time prior to celebrate her life. It's always so sad to lose a beloved animal, and each time it just breaks hearts. So glad you have Dudley now;a new dog can help mend broken hearts.

Thanks for sharing Dallas' story. Although I'm now crying over dogs I've lost, it's all good, as I have another dear one on the sleeping on the chair next to me. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-397993561203042221.post-20929579503984607362011-10-06T22:54:44.517-07:002011-10-06T22:54:44.517-07:00I cried the whole story.
